Heres some interesting research into Muji's concepts.

• The manufacturing process is also streamlined for efficiency to eliminate waste and reduce cost.
• Packaging is minimal and natural: packaging literature is information only.
• Materials are chosen for there natural fibres and quality, food is healthy, clothes come in organic colours and are comfortable and unadorned. Appliances are simple and functional.
• Products that do not sell out that season are recycled or resold the following season. To destroy skips of stock would go against the Muji philosophy.
